David A. Gallo

David A. Gallo is a founding partner in the law firm of David A. Gallo & Associates LLP. His area of concentration is real estate law.

Mr. Gallo, a graduate of The College of the Holy Cross and St. John’s University School of Law, has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 1981. He is also a member of the Queens County Bar Association and is admitted to the Federal District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Mr. Gallo is a member of the Committee on Character and Fitness for the 2nd, 10th and 11th Judicial Districts. The Committee on Character and Fitness screens potential candidates for admission or readmission as attorneys in the State of New York.

In 2017, the Chief Judge of the State of New York, the Honorable Janet D. Fiore, appointed Mr. Gallo to the Special Commission on the Future of the New York City Housings Courts.

Mr. Gallo served a three-year term on the Advisory Council of the Housing Part of the Civil Court of the City of New York. He was elected as the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Housing Part of the Civil Court of the City of New York in 1999. In January 2006, Mr. Gallo began serving a new three-year term on the Advisory Council of the Housing Part of the Civil Court of the City of New York. Pursuant to the New York City Civil Court Act, Section 110, the Advisory Council of the Housing Part of the Civil Court of the City of New York reviews and makes recommendations on applicants seeking appointment and judges seeking re-appointment to the Housing Court bench.

Mr. Gallo was re-appointed to the Housing Court Advisory Council in October 2012 by the Honorable A. Gail Prudenti, Chief Administrative Judge of the State of New York.

Foreclosures/Bankruptcy – Mr. Gallo handles foreclosure actions as counsel to mortgage lenders and those institutions servicing the mortgage industry. He currently represents major financial institutions and mortgage default servicers in foreclosure proceedings and related bankruptcy matters throughout the State of New York. He has lectured for the New York State Bar Association on Residential Mortgages.

Landlord & Tenant/REO Closing – Mr. Gallo represents landlords in landlord and tenant matters on behalf of major real estate owners, lending institutions and servicers for the default industry. He has acted as counsel to cooperative corporations throughout New York City. He has lectured for the Queens County Bar Association on landlord and tenant law on cases involving post-foreclosure issues.

Mortgage Closings – Mr. Gallo represents national mortgage lenders and mortgage servicers in loan originations in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Nassau and Suffolk Counties. In addition, David A. Gallo & Associates, LLP, closes commercial and multi-family mortgage loans on behalf of national mortgage lenders and mortgage servicers.

Litigation/Contracts – Mr. Gallo’s extensive legal experience as an attorney in the area of real estate includes representing major real estate owners and lending institutions, mortgage servicers and FNMA (Federal National Mortgage Associations) in contested real estate matters. David Gallo has handled real property, condominium and cooperative closings, commercial lease agreements, residential and commercial contracts.
